Frequently
Asked Questions
Have questions about how The Lab Cab works? Here are quick answers about where we come to you, how to schedule, how long a visit takes, and who we work with. If you don’t see what you need, give us a call and we’ll get back to you promptly.
We come to you. We provide mobile lab draws at private homes, clinics, and nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Our visits suit busy families, seniors, and homebound patients, and we also support clinics and care communities with routine, scheduled testing.
Call us or reach out through our website and let us know you need service. Clinics and nursing homes can contact us to ask how our service fits their needs. We prefer 24 hours’ notice, but we’ll work to accommodate your needs, including STAT orders. We check phone messages hourly and return calls promptly.
Visits are brief, generally less than 10 minutes. Our technicians arrive with everything needed to complete your draw safely, so the visit is efficient without feeling rushed.
We work with doctors from many different provider systems, and with several local health care providers in and around the Twin Cities metro area. Where your blood is taken depends on the system you are in, and those details are provided when the order is placed. The Lab Cab acts as the logistics team that gets the draw done, so your test stays within your provider’s network.
Both. We have long-term clients who need routine blood work, such as weekly or monthly draws. We also serve short-term needs, for example a client who just can’t get out to the clinic, or someone home from the hospital on bed rest who still needs blood work.
